This Privacy Policy explains what information BillSimple collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the BillSimple website and application.
1. Information We Collect
We collect the information needed to provide the Service:
- Account information: your name, email address, and phone number when you sign up.
- Business information: your business name, address, GSTIN, and GST scheme.
- Data you enter to use the Service: your customers' names, contact details, GSTIN, and the invoices/billing history you create.
- Payment information: subscription payments are processed by Razorpay; we do not receive or store your card, UPI, or bank account details ourselves.
- Usage information: basic technical information (such as browser type and IP address) collected automatically to keep the Service secure and working correctly.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process subscription billing.
- To respond to support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Data Isolation Between Businesses
Each business's data is kept logically separate within our systems and is never visible to any other business using BillSimple.
4. Sharing of Information
We do not sell your information. We share information only with:
- Razorpay, to process your subscription payments.
- Service providers who help us operate the platform (e.g. hosting), under obligations to protect your data.
- Authorities, where required by law.
5. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to protect the Service against cross-site request forgery. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your account and business data for as long as your account is active. To request deletion of your account or data, contact support@billsimple.online; we will action reasonable requests subject to any legal obligation to retain billing records.
7. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us at the address below.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for business use by adults and is not directed at children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
